She got the axe!
Last night, Farrah Abraham was gearing up to star in her second live, interactive adult video. Hosted by CamSoda, Farrah announced that she would be showing off all of her talent, specifically the “back door” variety. But those who tuned in were met with an unexpected announcement: Farrah revealed that she had been FIRED from Teen Mom OG.
Farrah claims that her involvement in the adult industry eventually pushed MTV too far, and that their decision to fire her was sexist, slut-shaming, and exploitative. We’ve all seen Farrah’s intense personality from day one, but has it finally lost her her biggest gig?
Cam Show
Last night, thousands of Farrah’s fans tuned in for her live show on CamSoda. Farrah has been promoting this show for weeks, teasing the fact that she’d be getting off on camera again, but this time, with some “back door” action. But when viewers logged on to watch Farrah get off, they instead watched her announce that she was recently fired from the cast of Teen Mom OG.
Going Live
She opened up about the news on an Instagram Live broadcast by the star just prior to the show. After advertising the toys and lingerie she’d be using, she said, “I had a super horrible day. MTV fired me from MTV’s Teen Mom because my press for my own brand outshines their press. And also, they were sex shaming me about doing this cam show today.” She added, “I’m no longer, I guess, going to be on MTV because they wanted to sex shame me.”
Reddit user vandarama, who watched the livestream, revealed what happened next on Reddit. “The show is a big [clusterf**k] right now, just based on the comments… Ppl are paying but not seeing her do much of anything. She came back to the free live feed to vaguely apologize then pick up her phone and cut the camera off when pornstar/moderator Molly Cavalli commented for her to answer her phone.”
They updated about the incident as it continued to unfold:
“She just came back on to say she won’t be doing anal because of her horrible news today; it’s pretty confusing.” The second update reads, “Everyone is being refunded since they didn’t get an actual show for their money. Her customers had to literally beg her to take clothes off and do anything sexy, so there’s your answer about how into this she really is.”
Their third update reads, “And she’s melting down in the comments, calling out people for ‘hating’ by not appreciating being defrauded.”
Opening Up
Farrah opened up with a lengthy update on Instagram about her firing. It reads:
”Even though #Viacom fired me today they couldn’t help but to exploit myself & my daughter for their promotional gain- Viacom let me go because as a Business Mogul I act like an adult and part take in adult promotions and activities that other adults do for FREE or in private ! Even though I have successfully been to gentlemen’s clubs appearances they filmed and Viacom filmed me at the AVN’s & Viacom shows and glorifies showing couples having sex on their network but as stated today 'my brands press out shines the Teen mom Viacom press'- Sad such a phenomenal show will no longer have its biggest talent on the show because of women hating, sex shaming, hate crimes, selfish, Weinstein company power trip behaviors against a professional hard working, honest mother. I’m proud of myself not giving in to be sex shamed by Viacom network, Proud to not have a network take away financial opportunities for my goals, proud to be an Advocate for a healthy sex life, safe sex, teen pregnancy prevention and so much more while I run companies in different feilds and scale them. Cheers to basically winning against hurtful disgusting executives who do way more in their personal lives then what I could ever be judged for-I will never be broken by hateful wrong people and if everyone else is brained washed, on drugs, pills, scheming thinking their at the top of their power trips I WISH to always be apart- I give this chapter of my life to GOD & all of his glory & to justice in court. If God’s for you who dare be against you. I look forward to writing my first business book and sharing all of these life changing experiences in detail , from scheming producers & executives to jealous celebrities ,what to do to over come , not be shattered & stay true to the free world we live in ! #USA #AMERICA Get out there a keep being you! Your much better then all the politics & the people at the top who could never be at the top if it wasn’t for you! #godisgood.”
Not Convinced
MTV has yet to comment on the validity of Farrah’s claims. In fact, the only person who alleged that Farrah was fired is Farrah herself! So fans took it upon themselves to discuss theories on Reddit.
“I'm not sure how I feel about this,” wrote user PeachesNSteam. “On the one hand, what the hell did she expect? On the other hand, you don't get fired for drugs or domestic abuse or child neglect but sex work is where they draw the line?”
“I really don't think this has anything to do with the fact she does porn,” wrote user chrissycakes8726. “She has been using the Teen Mom name with her porn/stripper stuff since 2013. Plus, as much as it might not be everyones cup of tea, it is actually pretty common for teen mothers to turn to stripping/sex work. If anything, Farrah's storyline is pretty realistic (besides making millions of dollars) for a teen mom.”
“Definitely a hard-to-watch downward spiral,” wrote user vadarama. “Zero chance she'd be getting wasted and enduring these cam shows unless it were a money issue. She freaked out for a short second in her first vid when she worried someone might be commenting who hadn't paid to watch. It's not something she does for fun and empowerment that also just happens to make her money on the side.”
Some were less critical toward Farrah, and more upset with MTV. User kemandrap wrote:
“I am truly hurting for the children we have all become attached to and the families that might have been but are destroyed due to celebrity, cult of personality, excess money, and overall greed and jealousy....people have commented that it is odd that so many personality-disordered girls were in one place...well, not really in a way, as MTV KNEW what they were looking for, the more outrageous and self-centered, the better, MTV had NO intention, in my opinion, to do any type of a documentary series to help young pregnant girls sincerely wanting to help other young girls of their generation....”
