Being in the spotlight isn’t easy, especially when you’re Jenelle Evans. Since she first appeared on 16 and Pregnant, she’s been facing rumors, gossip, and full-on lies about her from every direction.
Now, she’s taking things into her own hands to clear up what’s true and what’s not.
Jenelle Evans sat down with Teen Mom Talk Now for an exclusive interview, and she gave us the inside scoop about all of the lies you might still believe about her.
When Jenelle Evans first revealed that she was filing for divorce from David Eason, it shocked the entirety of the Teen Mom fanbase.
Since then, there have been non-stop rumors about what’s going on in her life.
Fans have noticed that Jenelle is sharing photos of herself and her children in the North Carolina home that she and David built, leading some to assume they’re back together. But as it turns out, anyone saying Jenelle and David are back together is lying. Jenelle explained to us what’s really going on.
Jenelle explained that a lot of the lies are based on the no-contact order that she filed against David soon after announcing her plans to divorce him.
She shared that people assumed that “things were just absolutely horrible between me and David, and it just seemed like it was the best thing to do to leave him.”
In reality, she says, the issues were simply between her and David and did not affect the kids.
In fact, Jenelle shares that the worst that happened was her and David cursing in front of them.
“It had nothing to do with [David] intentionally doing something because he hates the kids or him hurting the kids,” Jenelle told us. “It had nothing to do with that. It had to do with me and David putting each other down as parents, calling [each other] names in front of the kids and cussing in front of the kids.”
In fact, that’s why a CPS case was dropped by a judge.
“The judge literally sat there and put Maryssa on the stand for two days straight,” Jenelle explained. After Maryssa shared what was happening in the house, the judge decided, “‘I can’t take these children away for cussing.’”
And any outlets who report that she and David have reunited are lying as well.
“As of now, I still tell people we’re not back together,” Jenelle shared. “He has a lot to prove to me, and he has a lot to change about himself, and he knows that.”
But that’s not all of the lies that Jenelle is facing down.
The lies are getting so bad that they’re affecting Jenelle’s ability to support local businesses she loves. This happened when fake screenshots of a conversation were photoshopped and distributed in the fanbase.
In the photoshopped screencaps, it appears that Jenelle is writing, “Yes, I am getting paid for [promoting the business]. They sent me the sweater so I could promote their company since they are local.”
Jenelle shared the fake screenshot to her Instagram, captioning it, “If you see this it’s a fake screenshot. People are making up lies and sending stuff like this to companies I promote for FREE.”
In our interview, Jenelle told Teen Mom Talk Now what really happened.
“It’s really sad because… I did it for free,” Jenelle said, revealing that the business asked her simply to tag them if she ever wore their clothes.
And because of the lies, many people are now going after the business!
“They’re harassing her [and] DMing her and saying ‘You shouldn’t even have Jenelle shop at your store,’” Jenelle revealed, adding, “Well, this is a store that’s in my mall locally, so you’re going to tell her to make me stop shopping at the mall?”
Luckily, Jenelle isn’t letting the hate get to her. Instead, she’s keeping her eyes on the horizon and focusing on new projects.
Jenelle shared that she’s working hard to keep getting updates out to her fans via YouTube and Instagram, and that she might even have a television appearance coming out in the future.
“I’m doing everything myself, so of course it’s kind of hard,” she added. Luckily, it seems that fans won’t have to wait much longer to see more of Jenelle.
