Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer have recently made the decision to end their time on Teen Mom 2. Even though this has upset many fans who were looking forward to another season with the couple, it doesn't mean we'll stop hearing from them entirely.
Now, Cole is getting real about his relationship with his step-daughter Aubree - and it has many fans tearing up.
Last week, The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported that Chelsea told producers weeks ago that she has no plans to return to Teen Mom 2. The Season 10A reunion will be her last show.
Although they reported that Chelsea told producers that she did not want to return, the other cast members and those who work on the show only found out while filming the reunion yesterday.
“The girls were filming from their homes, along with Dr. Drew [Pinsky] and Nessa, and at the end when all of the girls were on-screen together with [the hosts], they let Chelsea make her announcement to them,” a source told the outlet.
“Chelsea told everyone that she has decided that it’s best for her family if they move on from the show, and that it was a really hard decision, but that she feels like a weight has been lifted from her shoulders,” they continued.
“The girls were all supportive of her decision, but no one else announced that they were leaving,” the source added. “It’s obvious Chelsea’s life doesn’t really fit the show anymore, though.”
Now, Chelsea is confirming this rumor in a statement.
"MTV’s Teen Mom 2 has been a big part of my life for almost 11 years," Chelsea began her statement on Instagram. "After much thought and discussion with my family and friends, Cole and I have decided that this season will be our last."
As heartbreaking as this is, it's clear that Chelsea has put a lot of thought into this. She penned:
"We are forever thankful to MTV and our crew, who are like family to us. We’re parting on the best of terms and will stay in touch long after this. We’re proud to have been able to share our story and are so grateful to the fans who have followed our journey from the beginning. Our next chapter in life will focus on developing our brand and taking things to the next level with new endeavors and expanding family businesses."
She also invited fans to keep up with her, writing, "Please tune into our last moments on the show and continue to follow along our journey on social media. We are so excited for this next phase of our lives and hope you all will be a part of it in some way!"
She's kept her promise to keep fans up to date on her life - and so has Cole!
"Aubree wanted to show me a video..." Cole shared in his Instagram story. "It was of girls showing their song to their stepfathers. And I got a big ol hug," he shared, adding a few hear emojis.
He included some of the lyrics from Aubree's song.
"I wasn't there for her first steps / but I ain't missed a ball game yet," one lyric reads.
Another goes, "She hit me like a train / the first time she called me dad / in a three stick figure crayon picture / with all of us holding hands."
The last lyric reads, "Yeah she's my own and that's my choice / She ain't my blood but she's my, she's my girl."
Cole added some of his own messages, writing, "I'll be here crying happy tears," and "My heartttt."
