Social media is a huge way that people get to see into one another’s lives, even when those people are celebrities. Even though the Teen Mom cast’s lives are put on display during the show itself, fans love following their favorite girls on Instagram and Twitter to get more updates about the details of their lives.
But sometimes, these updates can backfire. Social media can also show the ugly side of humanity, and Chelsea Houska is coming under attack for her recent update.
Of all of the Teen Mom cast members, Chelsea Houska just might have the most dedicated fanbase. After all, unlike many of her co-stars who always seem to be in and out of drama, Chelsea seems to be focused on her family and husband.
But that only makes scandals about her even more shocking as fans realize that the Teen Mom fan favorite might not be so perfect after all.
This became clear after Chelsea’s most recent Instagram update which featured her daughter, Aubree.
In the update, Chelsea and Aubree get together for some hair styling using a new product.
“Hello, everybody!” Chelsea says. “We are doing a tutorial today. We’ve never done a tutorial… this is my beautiful model, my daughter.”
She goes on, “This is super simple, I’ll show you how it works.” She adds, “[This product is] to make your ponytails fuller… [Aubree] has hair like me and it’s super fine.”
She goes on to style Aubree’s hair with the product and then shows off how it looks. “Look at that! It gives you volume, makes it super cute. Perfect for people with fine hair like me and beautifull Aubree.”
After, she exclaims: “Stunning! Angel!”
So what’s so upsetting about this mother and daughter moment?
Many fans are upset about something they’ve noticed repeatedly on Chelsea’s Instagram: a lot of ads. This most recent post is one of many advertisements on her Instagram, and some find this upsetting.
Fans sounded off about it in the comments.
“I love chelsea, I dnt know how others feel but I want to see more about u and ur family. Not all these posts about products. It's kinda taking away from the joy of watching you. I'm sorry I am not being rude or anything. Ofcourse you do ur thing. I'm just airing my thoughts and feelings. Love ya though,” wrote user @cbainter73.
Another chimed in, "Who wants to wear that in their hair! Teach Aubree she is beautiful and perfect without any added pieces!"
And this isn’t the first time that Chelsea has received hate for posting ads on her Instagram.
Chelsea Houska Reveals Her Controversial Weight Loss Method
A lot of the Teen Mom stars have had some major glowups since they first appeared on television on 16 and Pregnant. Of course, some of them have also had… glowdowns… while others have perhaps glowed in a more sideways direction.
While a lot of the moms are looking hotter than ever, Chelsea Houska may take the cake for the most stunning post-pregnancy transformation. And considering that she’s had three children now, she continues to shock fans with her slim figure. So just how does she do it? Luckily, she’s finally revealing her secrets.
It’s totally natural for women to gain weight while pregnant, and sometimes it can be something of a challenge to keep the weight off afterward. Many of the Teen Mom stars have been open about their struggles with body image and self acceptance, or even the ways that they’ve lost weight themselves.
But considering that Chelsea Houska is in the club of Teen Mom stars who have had three children, fans are constantly impressed when she shows off super slim selfies.
Recently, Chelsea shared endless selfies while she was taping for the Teen Mom 2 reunion, and now she’s sharing all of her secrets.
"I’m happiest when I’m healthiest, that’s why I’m SO excited to continue my Profile journey. There have been so many new products at @Profile_Sanford it’s hard to keep up! Umm Profile Ice Cream? Where have you been all my life?! Let’s do this together!! Use the link in my bio to sign up and receive $150 off your membership using promo code CHELSEA! #ProfileProud," Chelsea shared on Instagram.
Some fans were thrilled about her update and were quick to share their support. But not everyone was so impressed, and fans sounded off with their disappointment in the comments.
“I was disappointed when I looked at the ingredients in one of the shakes and it had sucralose 😕 I always try to avoid artificial sweeteners,” wrote @angela.smith.fit. User @melie_k wrote, “Aw no... not you too 😓 this makes me so sad... I love you, or I did before this toxic diet culture being spread around as ‘health’.” User @jalyssaxo_ wrote, “Dont look like your enjoying it.”
In fact, Chelsea has given a bit of mixed signals about how she loses weight, and fans think she might not rely on Profile as much as she claims.
“How did @ChelseaHouska lose her baby weight? Need tips!” wrote one of Chelsea’s fans on Twitter last year. Chelsea shot back quickly, “Low carb ?.”
“She also does Crossfit, working out and lifting,” another fan chimed in to say. But busy mom Chelsea pointed out, “I wish I still did CrossFit 🙁 I haven’t been to a gym since I was pregnant haha.”
Apparently, for Chelsea, it’s all about what she puts in her mouth. Shockingly, she’s revealed that she hasn’t just lost her baby weight… she’s gotten down to an even lower weight than she started at!
“I’m on a strict/low carb diet,” she told fans. “It was not easy! But I’m 10lbs less than I was before I got pregnant, so it’s been worth it.”
She went on, “I do easy/quick meal prep. Lots of chicken breast and broccoli microwave steamers!”
Some fans recently even made some bold speculations about Chelsea’s weight. “She looks beautiful and also here’s a gentle diagnosis for her: she must still take prescription stimulants for ADD,” one wrote. “1) That’s why she’s so thin despite her body’s natural tendencies and recent pregnancies and 2) that’s why she’s having such a problem with panic attacks.”
Chelsea was quick to shut this rumor down as well. “I actually do not take that lol,” she wrote. “I am very dedicated to eating right on my diet.”
Luckily, some fans were there to offer her some advice as well. “One thing I am qualified to tell you though is issues with anxiety and panic attacks CAN go away (even if it’s not from taking anything),” a Twitter follower wrote. “Feels like h*ll but it’s NOT forever.”
