So creepy!
Even though being a reality TV star may seem like endless fun, the Teen Mom cast have shown time and again that there are some drawbacks to being a public figure. In addition to fighting off “haters” at seemingly every move, being famous can often expose them to uncommon risks. Unfortunately, Chelsea Houska has just experienced this firsthand.
Chelsea seems shaken after sharing this scary experience that has her and her fans shaken up.
All Eyes on You
Even though they’re not Hollywood celebrities, the Teen Mom cast members have thousands upon thousands of fans. With show ratings in the millions, it’s clear that their lives and experiences are reaching the households of a staggering number of viewers.
There are some great things that come along with this kind of attention, like support in times of need, but there are also some drawbacks. After all, among thousands of fans, there are bound to be a handful with bad intentions. It seems that Chelsea Houska may have just met one of them firsthand.
Stalker
A vlogger named Aaryn Williams recently made a post about needing privacy among her fans in order to prioritize her safety. Chelsea Houska chimed in with what can happen when that privacy isn’t respected.
“I recently had a grown man come to my door, in the middle of the day when I was home alone with both kids, asking for a picture,” Chelsea tweeted. “Keep as much private as you feel you need to girl. I do not blame you!”
Chelsea went on to add:
“I was very uncomfortable and said I didn’t want to take a photo. Aubree was scared. I think he was harmless, but it’s just the fact that a man would do that. My husband came home from work early...it was just an all around uncomfortable situation. I was scared to even tweet about it at first but I think he was from different state. Idk I get the creeps thinking about it!”
Stay Safe!
As Chelsea pointed out, the situation could have been harmless, but is undoubtedly unsettling regardless. Fans were quick to show her support.
“I would go out on a limb and say any random that shows up to your home asking for pictures or autographs isn't harmless or right in the head because anyone with sense would never do that. Its just too intrusive. You really should look at all options for safety measures,” wrote Twitter user @jnetw5683. User @jlovingmcclure wrote, “Oh Chelsea- that’s serious. You should get some security advise now that you are in the public eye! you have a beautiful famiky- please stay safe.”
Moving Out?
Many fans recalled that this isn’t the first time Chelsea has had a similarly unsettling experience! She recently had yet another uninvited stranger show up at her home! It turns out that the situation is so bad that she’s considering moving her family to a new home.
“Hate to say it Chelsea but might be time to move,” wrote Twitter user @LGreen83. “I’m not famous and I hate answering the door if I’m home alone or it’s just my son and I but y’all have your babies to protect.”
Chelsea responded, “If there was a house we liked for sale we would have already been moved haha hopefully soon! For now we have upped our security system !”
