Teen Mom was an unexpected success for MTV, and it’s impossible to ignore what the driving force was: all of the cast members whose gripping stories of love, loss, difficulty, and happiness have gotten viewers tuning in every week for almost a decade.
But all good things must come to an end! Could Chelsea Houska’s stint on MTV be over already?
Even though Teen Mom had a very stable cast for the first seven years it was on the air, things soon began to get rocky when Farrah Abraham decided that she and the producers just couldn’t see eye-to-eye together.
It’s still hard to say whether she was quit or fired, but the long story short is that she’s no longer on the show.
Ever since then, everything has seemed to be up in the air, as the cast has been changing rapidly since then. MTV added Bristol Palin for a short stint before they parted ways, and they also added Cheyenne Floyd.
In no time at all, the cast was shaken up again when MTV stopped filming one of the most well-known stars, Jenelle Evans, when her husband David Eason shot their dog after it attacked one of their children.
After MTV parted ways with Jenelle, fans realized that they shouldn’t take their favorite stars or the show for granted anymore. And now it looks like Chelsea Houska could be next to part ways with the show.
Chelsea broached the topic when she and her husband Cole DeBoer appeared on the podcast Don’t Tell Mom.
“Every time they call you for Teen Mom, do you see yourself doing this forever?” one of the hosts asked. “Or do you imagine you would get to a point in your life where you’re like, ‘Nope, I just don’t want to do television anymore.’”
“You know I feel like, we would eventually get to a point, I don’t feel it now. I’ve been through ups and downs where I’m like, ‘Can I keep doing this?’ You know? Is this healthy? Is this healthy for my mental state.”
She went on, “[We] go back and forth. We are in such a good place right now, like I enjoy it, we like doing it, so right now, we’re enjoying it. If it ever got to a place where it was not healthy for us, family and our marriage is number one.”
The host then asked what Chelsea would do if Aubree told her, “Mom, I don’t want to do this anymore.”
“Then I would tell them, ‘She’s done,’” Cole said. “Yeah,” Chelsea agreed.
Chelsea recently opened up some exciting plans that she has coming up. In fact, she’s planning an entire makeover for herself!
