Over the years, the Teen Mom cast has seen a lot of changes. Although Farrah Abraham was the first to part ways with MTV, many of the franchise stars followed not long after.
Teen Mom 2 has seen more shakeups than its OG counterparts, with Briana DeJesus and Jade Cline joining the cast as well as Jenelle Evans leaving.
But after Chelsea Houska confirmed she was quitting, fans wondered whether it would be cancelled altogether.
Looks like MTV had other plans - and the network just confirmed that Young and Pregnant star Ashley Jones will be replacing Chelsea on the show.
Like her now-fellow Teen Mom 2 star Jade Cline, Ashley Jones originated on the spinoff Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant.
But despite attracting a cult following, the spinoff never made ratings as high as the original two shows. Although some thought this meant the end of Ashley Jones' reality career, it looks like she's moving on to bigger and better things: namely, replacing Chelsea Houska on Teen Mom 2.
Ashley's addition to Teen Mom 2 has been confirmed by a source within MTV, according to People Magazine.
Ashley has yet to issue a statement about her return, but fans can likely expect to see a continuation of her up and down relationship with her boyfriend and the father of her child, Bariki Smith.
The two seem to be going strong these days, though, and have just celebrated a re-engagement.
"I’m marrying her y’all," Bar recently shared on Instagram, captioning a video of Ashley showing off her stunning diamond ring.
Of course, Ashley has had a long history of not holding back when it comes to her Teen Mom co-stars, which came to a head in the most recent Young and Pregnant reunion.
But her biggest battle was with none other than Jenelle Evans over the former Teen Mom 2 stars' racist posts. Luckily for Ashley, it seems like Jenelle won't be working with MTV any time soon.
As fans wait to see what the next season of Teen Mom 2 will bring, all eyes are still on Chelsea Houska to see what other ways she may or may not stay in the public eye.
"MTV's Teen Mom 2 has been a big part of my life for almost 11 years," Chelsea shared on Instagram as she confirmed her departure from the show. "After much thought and discussion with my family and friends, Cole and I have decided that this season will be our last. We are forever thankful to MTV and our crew, who are like family to us. We're parting on the best of terms and will stay in touch long after this."

Ryan Edwards Reveals Maci Bookout Banned Him From Seeing Son Bentley
Despite being a pre-teen, Bentley Edwards has spent many years apart from his father, Ryan Edwards. Unfortunately, this comes as a result of Ryan's extensive substance abuse problems as well as his multiple arrests.
Although things seemed to be getting to a better place in recent seasons of Teen Mom OG, Ryan is now claiming that Maci Bookout has banned him from seeing his son once again.
Ryan Edwards' last arrest was in April 2019, when he was busted violating his probation.
But apparently that hasn't been enough time for him to change his ways in the eyes of his ex, Maci Bookout.
This may be partially a result of Ryan's behavior toward his son. Many fans saw Ryan's snide comments toward Bentley as "bullying," and are relieved that Maci is dialing back their time together. But according to the latest update, this time together is basically nonexistent.
“Their relationship hasn’t been going well. It’s not any better. Something came up that she wanted and needed. Ryan wasn’t going to comply with everything she wants and needs and we’ve been shut down," Ryan's father Larry told The Sun.
“Bentley right now, we can’t even see him, they’re not even allowed to see him," he said, adding, "It is what it is.”
Obviously, this isn't easy for Ryan or his parents, though fans (and obviously Maci) believe it to be justified.
“I miss Bentley. Tuesday is his birthday. Jen has been texting Maci and we haven’t heard anything back. I’m sure he’s going to have something. Jen has been texting, but we haven’t heard anything," Larry told The Sun.
He continued: “Jen’s been a great grandmother. It really hurts her feelings with what’s going on right now. She’s strong.”
As for their response, Larry shared that he believes taking things to court could just make things worse.
“No court," he said. "Ryan doesn’t want to deal with it. He doesn’t want to put himself back in a situation… He’s got a family. He needs to take care of himself. Then he needs to take care of them."
“If that’s going to be a situation where he gets upset and things are said… Ryan is not participating because he’s not going to let her pull his triggers. He’s pretty much, whatever she wants to do is fine," he added.
