She's opening up about her past difficulties!
At 27, Amber Portwood has finally settled down. Even though she’s lived through some seriously intense hardships, she’s now starting a family with her new boyfriend, Andrew Glennon. It seems that she’s in a much more stable point in her life, but the same couldn’t be said for her previous relationship.
While Amber focuses on her health and happiness on Teen Mom OG, she’s also starring on a less flattering show: Marriage Boot Camp. The show takes stars through some controversial (and questionable) therapy techniques in order to heal their relationships with their families, but it also brings out some of the star’s darkest moments.
Now, Amber is confessing that her relationship with Matt was worse than just shouting and manipulation. She’s revealed that she also suffered physical abuse at his hands.

It’s no secret that Matt Baier has some particularly nasty manipulation tactics. Who could forget the time he called off his wedding to Amber Portwood because she refused to elope to Vegas with him? As if it wasn’t bad enough, in the next scene he told a female producer to perform adult favors with anyone she had to in order to keep footage of their fight over the air. But according to Amber, his emotionally abusive methods were just the tip of the iceberg.
Amber is putting it all on the table during Marriage Boot Camp, and it hasn’t made her a lot of friends. It also clearly didn’t manage to patch things up between her and Matt, and it seems that that’s a good thing.
Woman-Abusing

“You’re a woman-abusing, beating piece of sh*t!” Amber slammed Matt in a recent MBC episode. Apparently, Matt would go to some serious lengths to make Amber look worse!
According to her, Matt “throws himself down the stairs, punches himself in the face, and takes pictures and says he’s gonna call the police to put [her] back in prison!” She added, “Why do you think I’m so angry? Because you put your f*cking hands on me!”

It’s not easy to see Amber at such an upsetting time of her life, but what’s even harder is watching Matt continue to deny all of her claims. reddit user emdee39 weighed in, writing, “[Matt] watched Amber on TV for years and knew exactly who she was. It is because of her myriad issues that Matt preyed on her (and Farrah, and Jenelle)…he knew exactly what she needed to hear to reel her in, and then he parked his a** on that couch and settled in for the ride.”
They even theorized, “He wanted to make sure their finances were intertwined first, and preferably they’d be married, so that he could eventually put her away in jail or a hospital. He never loved Amber or wanted to be in a romantic relationship with her any more than the other women he conned. He saw an easy target with a sh*t ton of money.”
