Everyone knows that celebrities are very well compensated for their time, and that includes the Teen Mom cast members. Even though their paychecks may not have been very big at the beginning, they now rake in some serious money in exchange for being followed around by cameras all of the time. It’s no wonder they’ve all upgraded to gorgeous homes, fancy cars, and lavish vacations.
But even those with massive paychecks can find themselves in debt if they’re not careful, and this Teen Mom couple has just become the newest member of the club. After a series of wrong financial choices, they’ve found themselves in thousands of dollars of debt.

Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra haven’t had the best experiences in the past season of Teen Mom OG. They experienced the devastating loss in a miscarriage, and it ended with Catelynn checking herself into a rehab center for her suicidal thoughts. It’s safe to say that this hardship put a lot of stress on the couple, but now it’s clear they have even more on their minds.

According to a report by Radar Online, Catelynn and Tyler have found themselves in a considerable amount of debt. “In a delinquent tax bill obtained from St. Clair County Court in Michigan, Baltierra owes $1,794.88 for the 2016 year and $2,641.60 for the 2017 year on their previous home,” the outlet reports, adding, “Lowell and Baltierra, both 26, were then slapped with a delinquent tax bill for $2,545.32 for the 2017 year on another home.”
Tyler and Catelynn recently upgraded into a large, pentagonal home which has required a great deal of renovations. In addition to this, Catelynn attended a costly rehab program. Luckily, Tyler did not end up footing the bill for his father Butch’s drug addiction rehab, as the center decided to allow Butch to attend for free.
The two cast members reportedly rake in $25,000 each for every episode of Teen Mom OG, making this debt quite notable. But money problems are not the only issues that Catelynn and Tyler are dealing with. Many fans are convinced that the two are facing a divorce!

After being Catelynn Baltierra on Instagram for years, Catelynn recently changed her last name on her profile back to her maiden name, Catelynn Lowell. Even though it’s just one change, it has clear implications about the state of her relationship with Tyler, and fans were quick to theorize.
“[Tyler] also didn’t post for her during Mother’s Day, which is a red flag for someone who posts the way he does. Lack of wedding rings in his recent photos isn’t a good sign either. WE WANT THE TEA!!!” wrote reddit user penny-lane21. User DrDavidsKilt theorized, “Cate prob watched the new season and has had enough of Tyler’s ‘sh*t talk Cate – then cry’ meals with mommy and sissy. I know i’d be like wtf already, you know a camera is there.” User Liltidbit agreed, “I was especially perturbed by Tyler discussing Cate’s mental health with his drug addled sister. Of all people! It would be hard for me to come back from just one of those conversations. IMO Tyler isn’t interesting enough on his own. He has no story without Cate.”
Others were disappointed just by the thought of the longstanding couple going down this path. “I will be so very sad if they’re splitting up,” wrote user mmm3343. “I loved them from day 1 and they’ve been through so much. I did think tho that their separate traumas pulled them together and they clung to each other in a sh*t storm. So maybe it’s unhealthy in the long run. But they both seem like such genuine people and have been so open and tried so hard to be the best parents they can be.”
And this isn’t the only sign that has fans alarmed. Tyler’s recent emotional outpourings on Twitter have many worried as well.
