Even though Teen Mom set out to simply document young mothers as they fought the struggles of young pregnancies, over the years, things have gotten more intense. MTV has not shied away from showing footage of child neglect, drug addiction, and even domestic violence. However, things have recently gotten even more disturbing after one Teen Mom star has been linked to a fatal shooting.
The Teen Mom family has just grown significantly in size after MTV premiered its new show, Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant. The spinoff seeks to show women from their teens to early twenties as they struggle with baby daddy drama, the stigma of young pregnancy, and learning how to be mothers for the first time. Among the new cast members is Bariki Smith, who is cast member Ashley’s baby daddy. His mother Shen has made appearances on the show, but no one expected this turn of events from his family.

According to reports by Radar Online, Bar’s older brother Troy Seales, who is thirty years old, is currently on trial for the murder of Deandre Adams. Adams was shot multiple times in Oakland California on Aug. 25, 2017. He was rushed to a hospital after crashing his vehicle and later passed away due to his injuries.
Bar’s older brother was then arrested on Sept. 12, where he was charged with two counts of great bodily injury and one count of shooting and inhabited dwelling. He later pled not guilty to murder, and he is being held in Santa Rita Jail with no bond.

Bar’s controversial mother, Shen, has been vocal on social media about the proceedings. “This the loving man we know, please come to court tomorrow,” she shared on social media on April 3. “We have a big family I am asking this favor for me and to show your love for him… Most important now closing arguments thank u.”
