Too bad!
If you date a member of the Teen Mom cast, you can bet that your star is about to rise. If you get one of the pregnant? well, you can pretty much kiss your privacy goodbye. I mean, we’ve witnessed that firsthand with Chris Lopez’s shockingly quick rise to fame.
Some people associated with Teen Mom cast members seem to want to stay out of the limelight as much as possible. Others can’t seem to let go of the fame once they get a taste of the spotlight. Even though Javi Marroquin has been divorced from Kailyn Lowry for a long time now, he’s still living it up in the limelight — and apparently that includes an attempt to get onto a new show!
Despite Javi’s best efforts, it looks like he may be sinking back into anonymity since he was passed over for a spot on the upcoming season of MTV’s The Challenge.

‘The Challenge’

Although The Challenge started as a spinoff of Real World and Road Rules, the show began incorporating other MTV stars a few years back. For those who are unfamiliar with the program, The Challenge is a team competition that tries contestants both physically and emotionally with a huge amount of cash on the line.
Like manny reality game shows, The Challenge has a reputation for hiring the most controversial and volatile of stars, so Javi may have had a pretty good claim to a spot! We’re sure he has a lot of pent up anger about his messy breakup with Kailyn… not to mention he’s become a very polarizing figure of late. With that in mind, it makes sense that he was angling to join the show’s newest season. And he wasn’t the only one: Jenelle’s ex, Nathan Griffith, was also interested in joining the cast.
A fan recently tweeted Nathan, “I still watch the challenge on @MTV and expect to see you on it!” Nathen retweeted it, “YESSS! I tell them all the time I would dominate them.”
The fan added, “Yes, you and @Javimarroquin9.” Javi replied, “Sheesh they don’t want to put me and Nate on a team together. #easymoney,” and Nathan agreed, “Yea, I think it would be an unfair advantage lol.”
Even though it started as just a riff on Twitter, it wasn’t long before Javi was picked up as one of the potentials for the next season. Many outlets began reporting that Javi was being considered by MTV’s higher ups as a future star of The Challenge.
Mixed Feelings

For fans that sided with Javi in the divorce, it’ll be a disappointing update that the former mister Lowry was passed over for next season of The Challenge. MTV formally posted the lineup for the next season, and Javi’s name was notably missing from the list. Even though this disappointed some fans, some were far from surprised.
“He’s too much of a wannabe,” wrote pinkbunnybitch. “Thank god. I am not here for MTV crossovers,” wrote user devzim.
Others saw a bigger issue here: “Isn’t he in the Air Force?” wrote Poutine_My_Mouth. “I’m surprised he even has the time to be on these shows.” User playing_the_angel agreed, “That might be why he won’t be participating- he probably went to the Air Force like ‘I wanna be on The Challenge!’ And the Air Force probably responded ‘Son, are already on one tv show. Ain’t nothin’ ever good enough for you Javi, d**n!’”
