‘Teen Mom’ Star Gets Engaged in Italy!

Don’t screw it up!

The father of Farrah Abraham’s daughter, Derek, passed away in a heartbreaking car crash before Sophia was even born. Since then, Farrah has tried her hand at dating, seeking out someone who would accept her and all of her baggage, but to no avail. The longest relationship she had was with the notorious Simon Saran, and although she even bought a ring for him to propose with, it wasn’t enough to seal the deal. That doesn’t mean that there’s no weddings on the horizon for Farrah.

Ever since moving out of her Austin home, Farrah has been staying with her father Michael and his girlfriend, Amy. Despite her rocky childhood and explosive upbringing, Farrah has seemed to be more stable than usual while living with them. It’s clear she approves of Amy much more than she approves of Debra’s new husband, David Merz. Amy and Farrah have even discussed her plans for her future, gone to the spa together, and spent time together in Italy.

There are few places better than the beautiful coast of Italy to get engaged, and it seems that Farrah’s father knew he wouldn’t have another opportunity like this to get down on one knee.

In this clip, Farrah reveals her insider knowledge of the setup. “Michael’s going to propose to Amy inside the Emerald Grotto,” she reveals in her voice-over, adding, “And I hope he doesn’t screw it up!”

Blended Family

“This is beautiful,” Michael says, and then takes out his phone. Then it becomes clear why. With tears in her eyes, Amy asks, “Did you write something?!”

Then, Michael reads:

“Roses are red, violets are blue, oh my Amy, how I love you, through and through. You are my best friend and wonderful lover. I’m thankful to God for you. Roses are red, violets are blue. I ask today to marry me my dear Amy, to share and enjoy our lives, our families, our journeys, and the remaining years of our lives, which will be many.”

The clip cuts off there, but judging from Farrah’s excited face and the tears in Amy’s eyes, it’s pretty safe to assume that things end well for this proposal. You can watch the full clip below.

MTV is releasing footage that was recorded in September, and at the time, Michael spoke with The Ashley’s Reality Roundup about his exciting news.

“I’m the most blessed man and so thankful to God for my fiancée, Amy!” he said in a statement. “We have been together going on three years and we share an enormous love of our families and life!”

Even Debra shared her well wishes, saying, she’s “very happy for them and [wishes] them a blessed and long marriage.” She continued, “It was good that we were together as a family, so Sophia can feel happy as a blended family.”
