Too weird!
Getting married is an extremely serious choice. After all, it means making a lifelong commitment to another person. In the Teen Mom cast, sometimes it doesn’t seem that they take it quite so seriously! So when this Teen Mom couple decided to tie the knot, there was one question in many fans’ minds: will it last?
Well, now that answer is a resounding no. As it turns out, the couple was never actually married to begin with!

Jenelle Evans has quite a few marriages and engagements under her belt, including one to her second baby daddy Nathan Griffith. She’s now happily married to David Eason, and even though he’s just lost his job on Teen Mom, things between the two seem to be going fine. In the meantime, Nathan Griffith made some huge news when his marriage to his long-time girlfriend Ashley Lanhardt was revealed!
Fans believed that Nathan was married after he updated his Facebook account to indicate that he and Ashley were now man and wife. But as it turns out, that was all fake!

“We talk about getting married all the time,” Nathan’s girlfriend told Ok! Magazine. She shared that they had “looked at rings not too long ago.” But according to her, his Facebook update was merely a “joke.”
“Nathan changed that as a joke but then deleted it, but forgot to delete it off his actual timeline I think,” she shared. “We both woke up to all of our family & friends questioning us.”

To be fair, many fans predicted as much. “Honestly i bet he didn’t [get married],” wrote reddit user orangepeeling when the “marriage” was first revealed. “I doubt they tied the knot. He’s referred to her as his wife in social media posts before too, and then referred to her as gf in another one.”
And those who did believe it weren’t too impressed. “He should have gotten sober instead and began therapy but what the [h*ll] do I know I guess,” wrote user feralfarrah. User zeusk134 wrote, “oh ashley, yikes. what a mistake.”
Still, there’s one big reason that Nathan would benefit from getting married: it would help him gain additional custody of Kaiser. “They can go for custody of Kai. If Nathan can stay out of trouble,” wrote Twitter user @a6a250e936ac4c7.
