It's not what you'd think!
It doesn’t take much for a rumor to get started in the Teen Mom community. When fans say one thing or another, it can get picked up by the stars and within a matter of hours, the new rumor is taken by many as the gospel truth. But when Catelynn and Leah weighed in about Leah’s supposed lovechild, it was an entirely different story.
Leah and Catelynn had a lot to say about Leah’s secret lovechild on Twitter, and it wasn’t long before fans started going crazy over the rumor. But the truth is that it’s definitely not what you expect.

Not all of the Teen Mom cast members are friends. In fact, many of them would probably get into a full-out fistfight if they were in the same room together. When certain cast members like Farrah and Amber get together, you know that it’s going to go down. But some of the quieter cast members, like Kailyn and Chelsea seem to get along great and be genuine friends. In fact, that’s the case for Catelynn Lowell and Leah Messer as well, and sometimes they use their friendship to tease fans on Twitter.
It all started when a fan noticed that Leah’s daughter, Addie, had a familiar face. They pointed out that Addie looked just like Cate! They tweeted, “@TM2LeahDawn Addie looks so much like @Catelynn Lowell it’s hilarious, my hubs and I joke that you two had a love child.” Leah and Catelynn seemed to love this, and they took the joke and ran with it immediately.
Catelynn decided to go all in. She wrote, “@TM2LeahDawn looks like our secret is out.” Obviously, there’s no relation between Catelynn and Addie. Addie’s father is Leah’s ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert. But it’s true that Addie looks strikingly like Leah and Tyler’s daughter, Novalee.

The truth is, even though Leah and Cate joked about Leah having a lovechild, Leah already has enough on her plate. In fact, she’s recently opened up to Kail that she feels like she might be falling back into her so-called “Monster Mom” ways. Leah struggled with her parenting in the early days of Teen Mom. It got so bad that she actually lost the custody of her twin daughters to Corey. She faced extensive rumors that she was addicted to drugs, but she denied them all. However, the fact that she was caught on screen slurring her words and even falling asleep mid-sentence doesn’t help. She also faced criticism for feeding her children dinner at midnight on a weeknight, and sending them to school late another time without breakfast.
Even though things seem to be better for Leah, she opened up to Kailyn about her concerns. In a clip from MTV, she told Kailyn, “Recently, you know, I started college. The campus is like an hour away… and I feel like I’m neglecting my kids a little bit. I feel bad.”
Kailyn reassures her immediately. She says, “You’re not neglecting them! This is something you want to do and you have to do for yourself… Whatever you need to do to, like, get it done… Honestly, if you’re overbumming yourself with that drive, and thinking that you’re neglecting your girls, it’s going to show with your schoolwork.”
It’s clear that Leah has enough on her plate without this so-called lovechild, but that’s not going to stop she and Cate from running with the joke.
