This update had everyone worried!
With all the Teen Mom social media drama, it is easy to forget that the show is actually months behind. Unfortunately, the show isn’t a 24/7 live-stream of the girl’s lives, so fans have to wait until the episodes air to get all the dirty details of incidents we already know about.
While by now we all know of and love Kailyn Lowry’s third son Lux, the mom’s youngest baby just made his first appearance on Teen Mom 2 during last night’s (Oct. 16) episode.
With everything that has happened since Lux’s welcome to the world, it feels like Kailyn gave birth ages ago. However, fans are just now seeing the behind-the-scenses footage of Kailyn’s hospital visit to give birth to her and Chris’s son.

Baby Lux was born on Aug. 5, so fans have gotten to see him grow and thrive for the past two months through social media. Last night on Teen Mom 2 though, fans got to see the story behind his birth.
As the 25-year-old (now) mom-of-three was on vacation in St. Thomas with her sons Isaac and Lincoln, they got to spend some quality time together. However, it wasn’t long before things took an unexpected twist. Kailyn began to notice that her feet and hands started to significantly swell up.
She began to worry that she might have preeclampsia (since she was 35 weeks pregnant at the time) and that she might have to deliver her baby on the island! “My swelling is getting worse, but a doctor is on the way,” Kailyn narrated. “I’m really worried I might have preeclampsia. It’s a pregnancy complication that causes high blood pressure.”
As it seemed more possible she’d be giving birth any moment, she said, “Imagine giving birth and there’s still sand on my feet from the beach!”
After she was rushed to the emergency room, the Hustle and Heart author was relieved to find out that she didn’t have preeclampsia.
She later found out that she also didn’t have her baby daddy! She told one of the producers that she texted Chris about the situation, but he didn’t answer. Kailyn theorized that he was with his “other girlfriend.”

Even though all of this happened months ago, all of the baby daddy drama is far from behind Kailyn. In fact, it seems like things are just amping up. An insider recently told Radar Online that Kailyn may have completely banned Chris from seeing their son.
“My guess is he won’t acknowledge paternity so she can’t file for child support,” the insider said. “They give a form in the hospital, but he didn’t sign it.”
The insider also pointed out that Chris won’t have any rights to see Lux without acknowledging his paternity. “Her lawyer drew something up and they are going through the court because he doesn’t have any rights to Lux without signing,” the unnamed source told Radar. “He’s not seeing the baby right now for those reasons.”
At the beginning of her pregnancy, it seemed that Kailyn was hoping to have a relationship with Chris. Whether or not they were formally dating was always a bit difficult to figure out, but the amount of drama from this on-and-off couple was enough to fuel an entire season of Teen Mom 2.
Despite Kailyn’s hopes, though, it looks like she’s given up on the idea of Chris playing a significant part in her son’s life. After all, she decided to give Lux her last name instead of Chris’s!
