By the time Kailyn Lowry had her third baby, she had already broken up with his father. Unfortunately for Teen Mom fans, it seems we’ll never get the full story of what went down between these two, considering that Chris Lopez refuses to film for the show. Kailyn has done plenty to paint a picture of him, though, revealing that he cheated on her throughout her entire pregnancy. No wonder the relationship didn’t last very long.
If there was any hope that these two would work it out, it’s pretty much entirely gone. Now, Kailyn is proving that by taking Chris to court! When it comes to her sons, she doesn’t mess around, and she’s just won a huge court battle with her baby daddy Chris… and fans are thrilled for her!

Kailyn Lowry has spent her fair share of time in courtrooms. From battling Jo Rivera and Javi Marroquin over child custody arrangements to filing for controversial protective orders, she certainly knows her way around the legal system. Now it’s Chris Lopez’s turn up to the plate when it comes to legal issues with Kailyn Lowry. Ironically, he may not have put up much of a fight when it comes to this case.

According to court documents from Kent County Court of Common Pleas, Kailyn Lowry has just had a major petition granted against her baby daddy. As of April 11, her request to change the name of her son, Lux, that she filed on Nov. 13 2017, was finally granted. It’s official: Lux Russell Lopez is now formally Lux Russell Lowry. This makes him the only son of Kailyn’s who shares her last name!
Even though this change may be a matter of paperwork, it sends a clear message about Kailyn’s involvement with her baby daddy. It also suggests she doesn’t expect much from him with regards to parenting. Whether Kailyn wanted to send a message or not, fans are happy with the outcome.

User BooyagasWife wrote, “I am a BIG advocate that unless you are married (or have a commitment of the marriage sort because i know some people just don’t like the idea of a legal binding piece of paper) baby should take on mom’s name from the start. If you end up getting married it is super easy to change.”

According to Radar Online, Chris’s visitation schedule is still a bit up in the air, but he currently has supervised visits. “The visits are not on a schedule,” Kailyn revealed to the outlet. “It wasn’t at a visitation center. It was wherever they decided to go as long as the supervisor was there.”
Recently, Kailyn has made it clear that she wants Chris to step up as a parent. After Chris posted this picture of him and Lux together, Kailyn was NOT having it.
“Don’t be an Instagram parent,” Kailyn tweeted passive aggressively all the way from Hawaii, where she was vacationing with Leah Messer at the time. She seemed to be implying that Chris only pretends to be a good father for Instagram, but really isn’t all that great.
