It’s no secret that the Teen Mom cast members pull in some massive paychecks for appearing on the show. On top of all of their various side jobs, the girls reportedly make around $60,000-$80,000 per aired episode of their franchise. By now, the long-standing members of Teen Mom should have some serious cash saved up from the routine paychecks alone, but are there some built-in bonuses we don’t know about?
According to Briana, there’s a lot more about the Teen Mom paychecks than meets the eye. She let slip about this strange salary detail that will explain a LOT about the Teen Mom world.
Let it Slip
Briana DeJesus is known for acting pretty differently on Twitter than she does on episodes of Teen Mom 2. Her Twitter personality is extremely open, and sometimes she seems to reveal a little bit too much! Now, has she let slip a hidden detail about the inner workings of Teen Mom salaries?
No matter how much people try to deny it, there’s really one reason people watch reality television: the drama. If Teen Mom followed a bunch of well-adjusted adults with stable families, relationships, and jobs, it’s not likely that people would tune in week after week. But now it looks like this might be something that factors into how much the girls are paid!
Briana has been defending herself against numerous trolls and angry fans on Twitter. When one fan called her out for all of the drama, she shut them down with this insider look of how the show really works.
Apparently, the drama is what fills her wallet!
“…. Little did they know is that I get a bonus check for all that sh-t they talk+views on tv,” Briana tweeted. That certainly would explain her recent behavior on Twitter! Briana signed off with “#UnbotheredAF.”
Fans have noticed that some of the girls have been engaging in particularly explosive social media rants of late, and this “sh-t talking bonus” certainly would explain that.
Reddit user misspriss91 pointed out, “Now all that sh-t posting and subtle shading from the cast before and during the season makes sense.” User Repogirl27 theorized, “If you hashtag teen mom 2 on social media, mtv counts that towards the ratings, and if they hit a certain amount in the ratings, the girls get a bonus check.”
User Jonbonnet had another theory. They thought that this would explain why some auxiliary cast members got so up in arms on Twitter, particularly Chelsea’s father, Randy.
“So is she confirming that they all act like lunatics so they get more money? …which now all the shit they do makes sense. i wonder if Randy helps Chels get hers? And if Jeremy helps Leah get hers.”
User ccmmssjl12 agreed, “Ha that would be pretty brilliant of Randy if that’s true. Drum up all the drama himself to keep his daughter ‘protected’, while still earning her an income.”
Drama bonus or not, many fans weren’t impressed with Briana’s Twitter activity. User ThirdMiracleBaby wrote, “If you’re #UnbotheredAF then you usually don’t feel the need to bother posting about it.”
