Red Flags Abound!
Getting into any new relationship means discovering baggage about your significant other. When you’re a reality star and part of the Teen Mom cast, it also means that the entire world is going to discover your significant other’s baggage. Amber Portwood is discovering that the hard way… for the second time.
Not long after the identity of her new boyfriend was revealed, more and more details about him have been coming to light. Needless to say, not many of them are particularly flattering. It was discovered that Andrew Glennon had a history of restraining orders filed against him for “stalking” and the like, but now it looks like he has even more darkness in his past.

A Dark Past

When Amber Portwood first started dating Matt Baier, fans were concerned about the red flags in their relationship, specifically, the fact that he was significantly older than her. We all know how that ended… Amber ultimately left Matt after he failed a lie detector test about cheating on her.
Even though Amber and her new boyfriend, Andrew Glennon’s relationship hasn’t aired on Teen Mom OG, there are already some red flags associated with him. In fact, for some people, they’re worse than an age gap.
Andrew opened up to Radar Online, sharing that he had recently gone through hard times. “I have been through so much pain in my life,” he said. “My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer while my mother was fighting breast cancer. I prepped myself to potentially lose both of my parents. My mother survived, but my father did not.”
This resulted in him falling into a “tailspin.” He told Radar, “Depression, drinking and throwing my heart through any open door. It nearly cost my life.”
Amber is a compassionate person. There’s no question that she would be there for Andrew, but considering she has a history of addiction, alcoholism could be a red flag for her.
That’s not the darkest thing in Andrew’s past though.

Radar Online also discovered that Andrew had a past of somewhat unsettling behavior with his exes. In fact, two of his exes filed restraining orders against him. One wrote, “On my birthday, [he] showed up at my work under a false name delivering flowers. Security at my work turned him away.” She also claimed Andrew “threw rocks at my window and smiled and laughed when he saw me look.”
Another wrote, “Since breaking up with him, I have received hundreds of emails, phone calls, text messages and Facebook messages from him harassing me. He has shown up at my work, home and the bus stops I take to and from work as well,” according to Radar.
As for Andrew’s side of the story, he said that the reports were “out of context and there is so much more to these accusations.” He added, “I have three sisters and would never consider stalking nor harassing any women. In hindsight, I should have contested the first one (didn’t know about the second).”
This isn’t the only illegal history that Andrew has in his past though. In July 2010, he was charged with two counts of “unlawfully owning, possessing, purchasing, receiving and having custody and control of a firearm, to wit, handgun,” according to Radar.

He was also charged with possession of a rifle by a felon.
Radar reports that the court papers read, “Possession of a deadly weapon was committed by Andrew Glennon, who did unlawfully manufacture, cause to be manufactured, impose into the State of California, keep for sale, offer and expose for sale, and give lend, and possess an instrument and weapon of the kind commonly known as a billy.”
He was also charged with possession of metal knuckles. He was arrested by the Malibu Patrol and held on $170,000 bail. According to Radar, he pled guilty to all five counts, but the charges against him were eventually dismissed.
So how has all of this news affected Amber and her new man’s relationship? Although Amber hasn’t commented on it, Andrew told Radar, “This is jeopardizing our relationship, which tears my heart. She is still processing. Right now everything is up in the air.”
That said, things seem to be alright between the two. Amber recently updated her Instagram with shots of her and Andrew living it up on a Hawaiian getaway, so it looks like they figured out a way to make it work despite Andrew’s history.
